My Fascination Street

If you're anything like me you know that once the summer hits I love using skincare products that are tough enough to get all the makeup, dirt and oil from my face without being to harsh from my skin during these hot months. I also have to make sure that I mix my self-tanners and bronzers with a moisturizer that is light and long lasting.

This is where Cetaphil® comes into the mix. I first heard about this brand many moons ago when a cousin with super sensitive skin started to use the facial cleanser. Back then I was cocky and thought my skin was perfect (which it was in my early 20's) so I didn't think I had any use for it. Once I tried it though I was hooked. I used to wear a lot of makeup and the fact that Cetaphil® Daily Facial Cleanser didn't have any alcohol meant that I wasn't drying my skin in a effort to keep it clean.

The cleanser also removed my makeup without leaving icky residue behind, another plus, especially for a skincare junkie like me. Immediately I became a convert and started saving a great deal of money in my skincare routine. At this point though I was only really using their cleanser because I didn't know they had a wider range of products, as I was more interested in makeup than skincare at the time.

When it comes to the SoCal heat, moisturizer, SPF, and a bit of foundation are what my face requires. I have no interest in wearing so many products that might melt off my face so guess who came to the rescue this time? Yep! You guessed it: Cetaphil® yet again. Their Daily Facial Moisturizer with Broad Spectrum SPF 15 is exactly what I need. It's a very light moisturizer that I don't ever feel on my face and it keeps my skin hydrated throughout the day. If I'm staying out in the sun for a long time the bottle is small enough to carry in my purse or tote bag.

I love how easily it blends in without being greasy.

Now one thing I absolutely did not expect was for Cetaphil® to have a body moisturizer. I always knew about their cleanser and that they had a moisturizer but only for the face so imagine my surprise when I set my eyes on this beauty! I am a bronzing addict. I always want my legs to look like I just stepped off a yacht while on vacation of St. Tropez so I soak my legs in as many bronzers as possible. Unfortunately though they aren't very moisturizing and every lotion that I have has a strong scent that kills the sweetness of my favorite bronzer.

Cetaphil® Daily Advance Ultra Hydrating Lotion does none of that. It's thick enough to apply well without being greasy and I can easily mix it with my favorite bronzers or sun tan lotions. Not only that but it contains Epidermal Replenishing Complex5 (ERC5), which is unique combination of 5 ingredients that protects dry skin and enhances hydration. I love anything that keeps my skin from looking dry because that kills any cute spring or summer look.

I'm excited to have found that Cetaphil® had a broader range of products and it's great for anyone who doesn't want to use products that can potentially do more harm than good for their skin. And what's better than Cetaphil® having these great products? Well, the fact that they're affordable and can be found at Target, Walmart, Drugstore.com, or even your local supermarket.

The new dream team

I started using these konjac sponges two summers ago when they came into my radar as a way to wash my face without needing cleanser. That's something I was super skeptical about! I've never washed without cleanser---ever! But lo and behold, Pooter's Cache was given to me to try out and give my thoughts on it.

Initially, none of the sponges that I've seen on the market mentioned that it could be used with a cleanser so I was really happy when I saw that this one was promoted differently. I'm a sucker for a product and old habits die hard! But because I wanted to see how the sponge made my face feel I chose to use it for two straight days without using any cleanser or makeup! I did of course use my argan oil moisturizer afterwards because I'm trying to use it every single day no matter what.

and it's pretty huge too!

The result of using this sponge was that my face did feel nice and smooth and I got to exfoliate my face naturally which, as you can see from my photo above, is where my skincare is headed. It's a fun new tool that looks a bit tricky when dry but once it's nice and wet it's ready to get to work on those dead skin cells and that's a win. Plus, the fact that it's a natural product means it's one of the products that will stick with me after December since I plan on going 100% natural by the end of 2017.

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Clairol Nice ’n Easy for IZEA. All opinions are 100% mine.

Hello everyone, here I am a few weeks after dying my hair with Clairol Nice ’n Easy for the first time and I'm happy to say that the results are still super impressive. Like I mentioned in my last post, I immediately loved how natural the color looked as well as how shiny and healthy it was. The process was also super easy thanks to their step-by-step instructions.
For the past few weeks I've been making sure to keep my color from fading by using products that were made for color treated hair, as well as keeping it out of the sun as much as possible and not washing it too often. The product that has helped me the most throughout this process has been their CC+ Colorseal Conditioner, which was included in my box of hair color. I only wash my hair once a week because it's really thick and takes ages to dry so when I do it's my way of treating myself.

After I use a shampoo that's sulfate free and made for color treated hair I use Clairol's CC+ Colorseal Conditioner for Brunettes to keep my color feeling soft and looking super fresh until I'm ready to dye again. I always make sure to cover every strand and then I leave it on for a few minutes while I get other things taken care of. After I rinse it off the result is always amazing. Even when wet my hair has a nice shine to it, which is totally different from wetness, and my curls are really easy to comb through with my fingers. This makes the process of drying very easy. I only ever use a small amount of heat protectant because I'm not a fan of having products weigh by hair down so I know that the shine and feel of my hair is mostly due to the CC+ Colorseal Conditioner.

Check out this video that I made highlighting my thoughts on the results. I really must say that I really like how Clairol makes it very easy to not only color, but maintain your hair at home. I must have colored my hair at home 100 times in my life and was never fully invested in trying to make the color last because I never felt that I had a natural looking color like I do now.

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Clairol Nice ’n Easy for IZEA. All opinions are 100% mine.

I've been dying my hair for as long as I can remember. It's to the point where I don't believe that my natural hair color is, in fact, what it is and of course my hair decides to grow longer than a temporary color stays in. Needless to say, I was ready to try something new.

Clairol Nice ’n Easy hair color was that something. One of the first things that stood out to me about the brand was that they have 45 shades that range from the brightest blonde to a deep natural blue/black. This was important to me because it meant that I had more options to choose from. I have dark brown hair with red undertones so finding the perfect shade is very important. After all, I always want a hair color that looks natural and doesn't make it obvious that I've colored my hair. Choosing the right shade was easy because the back of the boxes lets you know what the hair color would look like based on the shade you currently have now.

Even though I've dyed my hair before I did the skin allergy test that was recommended because I've never used this product before. Every brand and product are different and sometimes a company changes their ingredient and even the slightest change can cause an allergic reaction. It's best to do the skin allergy test in an area that is discreet, like the inside of your elbow or the back of your neck, 48 hours before you plan on dying your hair to ensure that you'll be good to go and not have any issues while coloring.

Clairol Nice n' Easy hair color came with the instructions, gloves and three different bottles that are labeled very detailed so you know exactly what to do. The color blend formula is to be added to the color activated bottle and shaken with the tip still in place or a gloved hand to avoid putting color all over your walls that should go on your head.

Check out this quick how-to video that I created discussing what my process was using this product for the first time.

Once the product was in my hair I let it sit for 25 minutes before rinsing it off. It wasn't long before the water ran clear and all the excess dye was gone from my head. My hair felt a but dry at that time so it's great that their CC+ Colorseal Conditioner gave it the moisture that it needed. Even with my thick head of hair I only had to use a little more than half of the tube and when I rinsed it off after 2 minutes the softness was back.

Since I have extremely thick and curly hair it took about 2 hours to get it completely dry and straight. The end result was a color that was a bit darker than I thought it would be but that was perfect because even though I living in sunny SoCal, the days here have not been so sunny lately, so having it a bit dark was great. Plus, it got rid of the red undertones in my hair that I am really not a fan of. Check out the end result below. Compared to the color in the video, I'd say it's a bit more natural because it's not as light as I had it before.

I'm awful at straightening my roots but I'm loving this new color!
It's a new year so why not try something different. Coloring your own hair at home is quick, easy, and not to mention inexpensive so head over to their website to read up on their product before you go out and pick the perfect shade for the look you're going for.

Hey guys! Welcome to the new year! So far I'm digging 2016 and can't wait to see what it has in store for me! I'm so impatient that I wish I could take a sneak peak into July to assure myself that everything's going a-ok!

But let's go back to 2015 for a minute. I've spent the year getting to know new brands, new products and sticking some oldies but goodies so I decided to give you guys my best of 2015! This list is what got my face through 2015 and have made the cut for 2016.

1. Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer- I have yet to find a product that will replace this. I've been using this tinted moisturizer for over 5 years and I have no reason to stop. It isn't heavy, evens out my skin tone, moisturizes and offers protection from the sun. The day this products stops being made is the day I stop showing my face in public

2. Chloé Eau de Parfum- I started using Chloé towards the end of 2014 but it wasn't until last year that i kicked it into high gear and made it what my ex called my signature scent. I stopped wearing it for a few months this summer because the smell gave me relationship PTSD but after reading how the smell of roses helps elevate the mood I brought it back as part of my aromatherapy. Then I got a killer box set for Christmas so I'm pretty sure this will also make the 2016 best of list.

3. Dr Bronners Lavender & Rose Castile Liquid Soap-  The great thing about Dr. Bronner's products is that they can be used for so many things. I started using it as a body wash but then kicked it up a notch by buying unscented laundry detergent in order to pout some of this into the wash water. I can't think of anything more heavenly that resting my head on a rose scented pillowcase or relaxing after a long hot shower using the lavender soap. Dr Bronner's is a new staple in my life and as long as they continue to make this universal product they've got a loyal customer in me.

4. Buxom Full-on Lip Polish- I'm not shy about my love of lip plumpers. Ever since Too Faced came out with their now awfully reformulated Lip Injection I've loved that tingly feeling that left my lips just a wee bit plump. I've tried so many other brands of plumpers and none have given me the results that Too Faced did but this one has come close. I love the refreshing tingling sensation and the color reflects light really well, giving me an amazing pout.

5.Sinful Colors Nail Enamel- I wasn't ever really big on nail polishes until I received this one over the summer. I initially thought the color I received (Dream On) would be a bit much for me but it ended up looking really great with my tanned skin. This brand of polishes are really shiny, dry fast, last super long and will make it look like you just got a professional gel manicure all the time. I need to go grab a bunch of these in rose gold and whatever other shade catches my eye.

I obviously used a lot more products that I was crazy over but these are the ones that made the top five. Now stay tuned because in a couple of days I'll share some of my 2106 must-have products that you need to get your hands on ASAP

If you weren't a Sephora VIB Rouge before you sure will by the first half of 2016 if you take my lead. Trust me your face, as always, will thank you!

I'v e been obsessed with facial cleansers for as long as I can remember. I love scrubs, cream cleansers and masks but one thing I've been really into lately are tools that help make my cleansers work a bit better which is why I'm so in love with the my new Ultimate Ultrasonic Facial Cleanser from Swiss-Ultimate Labs.

When I first got the package I was loving how sleek it looked before I even opened it because the box itself was simple and unassuming. Then I opened it and was in hot pick heaven. I never realized how much I loved the color until I looked around my bathroom and bedroom! But on the the cleansing brush.

I first used this with my favorite makeup removing cleanser and liked that it worked by using pulses instead of a spin type brush. No that I have anything against those but sometimes I want to use an exfoliator and it doesn't work so well with the brushes so that gave this item a win.

The Ultrasonic Facial Cleanser is an amazing size and fits in my hand really well. I have yet to have an issue with it slipping off or anything like that. Plus I can use it in the shower as well so when I'm pressed for time I can wash my face while I'm in there. The great thing is that I only had to use it for 30 seconds each morning or night and voila! The instructions even come with a massage pattern so I was able to figure out a good flow that is easy to stick with.

Just like most of my new and fun products, this facial cleanser charges via usb so and it's small enough that I can carry it with me wherever I go and just charge it up on my laptop.

The Ultrasonic Facial Cleanser promises to increase facial clarity as well as visibly reduce fine lines and puffiness after 3-4 weeks of use so I will totally keep you guys updated. Who knows, it might make my 2016 must-have's list!
